Inside an Electric Guitar
The latest video in my series, which perhaps should be called "Kerrin Sees Things That Aren't There", is what I have called Inside an Electric Guitar. The lines, colours and movement all contributed to the way that my brain interpreted it. I might have also been inspired/biased because I play electric guitar... although no where near as good as my daughter does. Let me know what you see in the video. There are no right or wrong answers... well, maybe some might be wrong!

Light You Can Run
Light You Can Run is a poem I wrote whilst watching the video I had filmed. Inspiration really can come from anywhere. Let me know what you think of it. Light You Can Run by Kerrin Revell Twirling Swirling Flickers of pain Intruding light Flashing refrain Colours and shapes Infecting inside Light you can run Darkness you cannot hide

My Brain Starting Up
As I have stated in a previous blog, I like to see things, like faces or shapes, in my abstract photos and write poems about them. I also like to do the same thing with my abstract videos. For the one I have linked below, it reminded me of that feeling as you're trying to wake up and face the day. I imagined the images were what you'd see if you looked into my brain as I was waking up. What do you see?

Old, Experimental Film Photographs
For a number of years now I have been posting my abstract images to Instagram and entering them into competitions and festivals and showing them in exhibitions. If you follow me on Instagram , I am sure you are familiar with my work. As someone who has always been one to experiment or push the limits, it won't shock you to find out that I have a history of taking experimental and abstract photos. My images usually have polar opposite reactions/criticisms, which I enjoy and ex

Space Pig in a Neon Wig
When I look at my abstract photography, (you can see them on Instagram here ) I sometimes see faces or objects inside the images. Of course, this is just a case of pareidolia but it makes the photos more fun for me to look at. The other night, I decided to have even more fun with that idea and wrote a poem based on what I thought the image looked like. For some reason, I decided that it looked like a space pig in a neon wig! Don't worry, I am just as concerned about myself a

Kaleidoscope
I am proud to announce that my poem “Kaleidoscope” has been included in this years poetry anthology by the Surrey Poet Laureateship, titled “Surrey Poetry 2025”. I am very proud of this, as it is the first time one of my more serious poems has been published. I have published a poetry book, co-authored by my wife, called “The Sillyverse”. There is still quite a whimsical feeling to Kaleidoscope but it doesn’t have the silliness or jokes, as a lot of my other poems are fill

Bal Fantastique
There are Doors concerts known and there are Doors concerts unknown and in between are the fans. I have been lucky enough to stumble across one such unknown performance by the Doors. Bal Fantastique was the name of a ball that had a surrealistic theme, which seems very apt for a Doors gig, and was held at the Presidio in Santa Barbara on Saturday the 19 th of February, 1966. This is the Doors pre-Light My Fire fame and even pre-Whisky a go go era. In fact, this performance

People are Strange
Hi, I’m Kerrin Revell, welcome to my journey of thought, which today is about Jim Morrison , on what would have been his eightieth birthday and how he (along with the Doors ) has affected my life, for the better. People are strange, and they don’t come much stranger than Jim. Well, that depends on how you look at life, so perhaps I should switch it around and say none come more normal than Jim? At least the normal I feel we should be and from what I can tell, Jim thought so
